Special Project – Boys and Girls Club Event
On Tuesday October 25, 2016, the Special Project Committee of the Women Lawyers of Utah coordinated and held a panel discussion at the Sugar House Boys & Girls Club. There were 15 young junior high and high school girls that participated in the event. The panelists, all women attorneys, discussed their journeys in pursuing a higher education. The participants were very engaged during the panel discussion. They asked about the financial aspect of going to college as well as the difficulties one faces in college. In the end, all 15 girls indicated that their goal was to go to college and pursue a higher education. And for some, they would be the first in their family to be going to college. Women Lawyers of Utah and the Special Project Committee would like to thank the panelists for their participation in this event: Rebecca Ryon, Nicole Salazar-Hall, Kaitlyn Gibbs, and Karina Sargsian.
